Here are a few shows in Southern California that I would recommend to any one
planning a visit here. One is the Tatsuzo Shimaoka retrospective at the
Mingei Museum in San Diego - he is one of Japans Living Treasures and several
people on this list have seen this show and written in about it over the last
few months (check the Clayart archives). It will be up thru Feb. 4th.

The other is the Michael and Magdalena Frimkess show at the Louis Stern Fine
Arts Gallery, 9002 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood (L.A.), 310-276-0147. This
show will be up thru Jan. 6th. I haven't seen it yet but I plan to soon.

Also, I like the ceramic collection at the Pacific-Asian Museum in Pasadena,
46 N. Los Robles Ave., 626-449-2742.

The Southwest Museum in Los Angeles has "From Earth, Fire and Spirit,
Historic Pueblo Pottery". This show ends in June. 234 Museum Drive, Mount
Washington, 323-221-2164

The Frank Lloyd gallery in Santa Monica (LA) has a John Mason exhibition thru
Dec. 30th. 2525 Michigan Ave. B 5b, 310-264-3866. Wow, I want to see this one!

Have fun,
Beverly Crist, L.A.
