I don't remember the name of the book, but all of her recipes were in a book
written about her. Maybe someone else knows the name of the book.

Shot in the dark-

I am currently on the hunt for Adelaide Robineau's black slip recipe
which she often used over her carved porcelain pieces. Anyone have any
leads?

Would love to have this book, since seeing more of her work in the Art
Nouveau show at the National Gallery in DC.

There is a book "Adelaide Alsop Robineau: Glory
in Porcelain" Hard to find and expensive.
Try interlibrary loan. May have what you need.
I have Gran Feu Ceramics by Taxile Doat. He
worked with the Robineaus.
They fired to cone 13. Mr Doat made his slips
from his clay bodies, and fritted some of the
materials. His description of his process sounds
like he calcined and fritted interchangeably,
and milled the results. For him it was the only
way to get the fine mixture necessary for their
work.

His clay body.

kaolin 38
quartz 24
feldspar 38

clayey kaolin 50
chromate of iron 15
cobalt of oxide 6
(all above strongly fritted together)

Mixture:
PN white slip 75
Frit 30
for oxodising firing
Adelaide's work along with that of Mr. Doat and
the Sevre factory are featured throughout, and
the final chapter is by C F Binns. Interesting.
Hope that if you find her actual recipes that
you will share them with the list. Thanks.
Stay centered.
