I may have to relocate to RI so your posting
caught my eye. Where is "Mass College of Art"
located?
<.....clip/snip........>
Back East, Mass College of Art has the finest kilnroom I have ever worked=

in.

Just my two pennies.

Hi.

Mass College of Art is located not too far from the Museum of Fine Arts i=
n
Boston. It is now located in the old campus of what was once called
Boston State. =

Massart currently has a FINE clay program, and wonderful facilities. Par=
t
of the kiln room mentioned above is pictured in some of the Bailey ads (t=
he
ones with the long string of kilns in a row). I am told that Massart is
now one of the tougher undergrad art schools as far as admissions goes.

Contact Ben Ryterband or Janna Longacre (both are ceramics faculty member=
s)
at the school for info on the program. I think Ben may be on sabbatical
right now.

Best,

.......................john

PS: I used to teach PT at Massart for about 10-11 years....... was the F=
T
tech there for 3 years before that. Mostly when the main campus was
located at the corner of Longwood and Brookline Ave's..... near Beth Isra=
el
and Children's Hospital. The new campus happend about the time I decided=

the commute from southern NH was getting to just be too much . The
facade of the old main Longwood /Brookline Ave. Massart building, comple=
te
with terra cotta work, is still visible as an archetectural part of a
modern Beth Israel Hospital building........ since one of the ceramics
majors from when I was there spearheaded an effort to get the srtructure
named to the historic register when word got around to the students that
the old building was proposed to be torn down. Drove the old school
President nuts when she succeeded .
