Source: Tony Martens, South Africa (Dolomite White glaze)
Tested on mid range white stoneware, fired to 1220, oxidation
50 Neph. Syenite
25 Dolomite
5 Whiting
20 Ball clay
comments: may give crystals is cooled slowly.
White matt glaze with toasty brown edges where thin. Stable, no =
discernable difference when dipped twice.
Very nice feel. This glaze is very similar to Marcia Selsor's Waxy =
White in both color and feel, but this receipe=20
is G.B. free. =20
Personal: This glaze is has a great feel and if goes through the next =
few tests well, could well become one of my studio workhorses
for liner glaze and basic white. Can't get enough of that feel! Do not =
see any crystals.

1 Cobalt
5 Rutile
resulted in a taupe/green ground with light blue speckling. Also some =
light green high spots when dipped twice.
