I used upholstery foam(cut from an old dead pillow) to mahe fitted plugs
for the hopper and hor thevacuum box. In between use, I put these
dampened sponges in, cpvered ot with plastic and used a shower cap on the
nozzle end.
Never had a problem with either rust or hardened clay..
