Hey, why can't we ask him to be a guest vendor in the Clayart room?

I believe the reason that Phil of Bison Tools in not displaying his ware at
Necca is cost. The booth fee makes his breakeven point on tools way outta
reach for a maker of handmade tools. He must pay the same amount as Shimpo,
Bailey etc, etc. One of vendors that I liked most in Fort Worth was a
student with a towel on the sidewalk out in front of the main hotel selling
handmade ribs and throwing sticks. Business was brisk but probably frowned
upon and eventually shooed away.
Phil- Why don't you go to Charlotte and do the open the trench coat kind
of selling. Hey babe, wanna see my tools? You can use it for a week to see
whether you like it or not.
I don't know how the treadle wheel guy does it, but then his product is
$2000. Sell one and you're OK. Gotta sell alot of tools to reach $2000.
Good to see Phil getting some attention. A fine product and a gentleman to
deal with.
The offer of Canadian citzenship still stands. Love a guy with a rant.
Cheers,
Tony

I think that asking him to be a guest vendor in the ClayArt room would be
setting a dangerous precedent. However, if he comes to NCECA and brings
some tools with him, I would certainly be happy and eager to buy directly
from him!!!
