hallo to everyone,

we are german potters and are looking for a good, not too complicated power
gas burner for a circa 15 cft (450 liter), firing temperature 1320°C
(2400°F).
we saw the Ward Burner at the website http://www.wardburner.com.

has somebody worked with such a gas power burner?? is the quality ok.?
is this burner good to be recommended?
or does somebody know different types of gas power burners?

we thank for each answer.
regards
guenter & niki hermans

I am using some Ward powerburners. They work fine, and they are not at
all complex. I have one on the 15 cu ft raku car kiln that I built at
the Armory last winter and it fires to 1050 C (1800+ F) in a couple of
minutes. It is very adjustable and can fire quite gently too. Call
Mark Ward, tell him what size kiln and gas supply you have and he will
recommend the right burner system. I suspect that he will recommend a
smaller burner than mine, as you probably want to go a little slower
than that. Good luck.

Guenter & Niki -
The Ward power burner is an excellent piece of equipment. We have several
that have been on use for many years on a 50 cubic downdraft kiln. If you
are considering purchasing the burner for use abroad you will have to talk
to Marc about making special accomodations in the design.

You can fire a 15-cubic foot kiln very easily with just one Ward power
burner. If you go to a large kiln later you can buy another one, and with
two of them you can fire any kiln up to at least 100 cubic feet. You can
reach Marc at wardburner@aol.com - or call him at 865-397-2914.
Best wishes -
- Vince
