wheel recommendations/soldner

I have only worked on an older Soldner wheel. The one with an almost half
circle table. I found it very hard on the back. I believe that was because
of the rigid table and braces. In order to be close enough to the wheel, my
knees were further apart than on my brent cx, therefore putting alot of
stress on lower back. I have noted pictures of Shankin and Glick with the
same type of wheel placed up on cement blocks. If possible try out a wheel
for a least a day before purchasing.
My back is not in very good shape so someone else would not necessarily have
the same problem. MarjB
