reds gone pink....

Pete,

I have had this happen to me. Especially with several Copper Red glazes
that contained talc/magnesium. My best deduction was that it was from
serious over reduction early (cone 014) and continued throughout. I was
firing for blue celadons and really held the reduction.

It has only happened with recipes containing talc/magnesium though. The
glaze usually was a lighter shade of red with blue streaks moving in and
out of clear. These were Barbie doll pink.

I cannot find the recipe right now but could track it down if you need me
to. My best recollection was that it was the over reduction of a
magnesium containing copper red glaze.

Hope that helps stop the pink,

John Britt
