Deborah,

What temperature are you firing at? At cone 03 or 04 for a majolica
white glaze, mix the mason stain with gerstley borate (if you have any
left) at a ratio of about 1 stain to 3 GB. It brushes beautifully on
unfired glaze. If you don't have GB or want a brighter color, mix the
stain with a frit (3124 I think) and glycerin or a gum binder to make it
brush well. I don't have the exact proportion here at home, but if no
one else send a reply (unlikely), I'll post it later.
