skutt problem

Hello all,

I have a problem with my skutt 1227, which has an electronic =
controller. When I start it, it starts, going on and off, shorter times =
between the on and off than usual, gets about four degrees (C) and then =
the temperature flashes but there is no error message. Can anyone tell =
me where to begin in figuring out what is wrong?=20

Thanks,=20

Linda,

Call the technical support group at Skutt. They have always been able to
answer my questions.

Thanks, Candise in San Diego

Linda,

Is the temperature display dim? Does the controller fire normally? Did you
recently change the transformer?

Arnold,

Thanks for answering. No the display is not dim. The controller tries =
to fire, cycling on and off, but the elements only get a little warm and =
then the display begins to flash. I did not change anything since the =
last firing. =20

Hi Linda,

Do you hear the normal clicking noise? (The sound of the relays sending power
to the elements.)

When the display begins to flash, what message do you see?

I'm curious about your controller problem, because I don't think I've ever
heard of this type of problem before.

About your skutt, problem. The controller can provide readout in =
Centigrade as well as Fahrenheit. Could it be that a button on the =
controller was pressed and you're getting the converted to C read out? =
Check your manual for how to toggle between the two. Hopefully that is =
the problem, which not a serious one, otherwise i would call Skutt
good luck
