Having access to some of the World's premium wine growing regions make a =
body very aware of the qualities of that beverage.
Among the delights which can be appreciated are flavour, aroma, vinosity =
and of course, Colour.
For which reason, glass is the preferable medium in which this beverage =
should be presented for delectation.
I have never been able to make a wine glass out of stoneware or =
porcelain. I have made Wine Goblets. Colleagues have made Chalices. But =
I have yet to meet a potter who made a wine glass. Things which were =
glazed, yes. But not a glass
But I have found that stoneware goblets are the ideal dispenser for =

Dear Ivor

I also insist on drinking wine out of glass . I like chinese tea out
of a tea bowl . Indian tea out of a cup, accompanied by cucumber
sandwiches, Madeira cake and chocolate biscuits - with both sides covered in
chocolate.

Sitting in a hut by a hole in the road waiting for the rain to stop I
prefer an enameled "tin" mug and two sugars.

My fly fishing partner asked me to make some goblets, which I did.
Unfortunately my retailer got a look at them and now I have to make more of
them. I can charge a lot for them. They are thrown in one piece and the
bottoms turned so they are profitable.

I am a full time potter so I have fewer choices. I teach begginers half a
day a week.

I sell the goblets as Mulled wine goblets to salve my conscience but I
can not see any call for hot spiced wine in Australia.
