Here's another installment in my ^10 glazes. Like the other set today, I =
fired these to ^10 in 9.09 hours in an electric Paragon Viking kiln, =
which was allowed to cool naturally to around 300 degrees F. with all =
holes plugged. They were applied on a blond ^10 stoneware clay.

Allen Creek Base 92 ^9

#11

Custer Spar 50
Ball Clay 10
Dolomite 30
Gerstley 10

Si:Al 5.77
SiB:Al 6.13
Expansion 8.23

Clear, fat, shiny glaze with severe crazing. Bison poor.

The next three glazes are some which Ron Roy prepared for me to use in =
an experiment. (More on that later).=20

Thanks, Ron. I think any of the three would work great, but I'm favoring =
the second one.=20

I'll call them RR-A, RR-B, and RR-C

RR-A ^10
Ron Roy
#12

Custer Spar 36 (Ron recommended G200, but I didn't =
have any)
Wolastonite 80
Frit 3134 6
EPK 12
Silica 23

Very clear, glossy, NVF. Bison good. Somewhat fat, no drips.

Custer spar 34
Wollastonite 15
Talc 7
Frit 3134 8
EPK 14
Silica 22

Si:Al 10.33
SiB:Al 10.57
Expansion 6.57

This is a half and half mix with RR-C, which follows. I believe I like =
this one best. It has the fattest appearance, and though it appears to =
be nice and thick, there are no drips. Bison poor, NVF.

RR-C ^10
# 13

Custer Spar 32
Wollastonite 13
Talc 18
Frit 3134 10
EPK 16
Silica 21

Glossy, clear, NVF, bison good, one small drip.

Pinell Clear ^10
Pete Pinell via Clayart
#14

Silica 35
Custer Spar 25
Whiting 20
EPK 20

Si:Al 8.78
SiB:Al 8.78
Expansion 6.53

Glossy with a slightly dry feel. I think I applied this one too thin. =
NVF, Bison good.

Byron Temple White ^10
Clayart
#15

Custer spar 36
Dolomite 19
Whiting 3
EPK 23
Silica 19

Si:Al 6.19
SiB:Al 6.19
Expansion 6.70

Buttery clear gloss. NVF, Bison prominent. I suspect I was supposed to =
add Zircopax or some opacifier to this one, but I didn't see it in the =
post from Bamboo Karen. (BTW, Thanks, Karen) Very nice glaze, which =
would undoubtedly make a lovely opaque white with around 15% zircopax.
