I just received my notice for this years clay fest and I thought I would
pass on the information. It will be held on the grounds of Buck Pottery in
the historic district of Gruene, TX on October 28th and 29th. That's just 4
miles north of New Braunfels where there are plenty of places to get a motel,
hotel, condo, or B&B.
There will be exhibits and demonstrations by Roger Allen, Michael
Biechlin, Carl Block, Ron Boling, Jon and Jan Brieger, Dee and Terry Buck,
Barbra Buell, Frank Campbell, Vorakit Chinookoswong, Jim Dale, Hank Drennan,
Mark Epstien, Mary F. Fisher, Angela Gallia, Linda Gossett, Mike Grafa,
Fraiser Harris, Daphne and Gary Hatcher, David Hendley, Don Herron, Gayle
Lynn and Michael Hodgson, Mike and Terri Hubbeling, Gary Huntoon, Janice
Joplin, Billy Ray and Beverly Mangham, Phil May, Tom May, Ryan McKerley,
Michael Merritt, Rachel Norris, Katie Pell, Rebecca Roberts, Paige Shelton,
Sharon Smith, and Patrick Veerkamp.
Last year they had simultaneous demonstrations at three areas on the
pottery grounds, with each demo lasting 1 1/2 hours. It worked out great and
the weather was fantastic. So if your going to be in the area (and if your
not plan to be) I highly recommend stopping by. You can pull up a hay bail
and sip on something cool while you watch some of the nicest and most
talented folks around do what we all love to do so much.
I'm in no way associated with the festival or any of it's participants I
just wanted to give all of you all a heads up because it's such a good time
and I feel kind of bad not being able to contribute more to such a giving
group like Clayart.
Hope to see you there,
Claude out east of Houston
