CERAMICS WORKSHOP: "NO COMPROMISE WITH GRAVITY"

November 11 and 12th, 2000 Saturday and Sunday
Murrells Inlet Community Center
9am to 4pm
Oyster Roast Saturday Evening sponsored by Arts by Fire Guild

$115 before November 1, $125 after.
This GREAT price due to sponsorship by Artworks Gallery and the
Georgetown County Parks and Recreation Commission.

This workshop deals with developing forming strategies which allow the
potter to actualize what is visualized, instead of making compromises
between aesthetics and the inability to keep forms from collapsing,
sagging or being bottom heavy. Demonstration will include continuation
throwing, rethrowing, hyperexpansion, joining thrown sections, altering
the structural limitations of clay, throwing more clay than you can
comfortably wedge and center and making flared plate forms. Discussion
and demonstration will also focus on the relationship of form to
surface, revision of fired surfaces, the right clay for the job and the
right kiln for the job. A slide lecture will cover the evolution of
personal style in relation to personal history.

Oyster Roast Saturday Evening...Bring a dish to share.

This workshop should be terrific, Harvey Sadow really knows his business.
Don't miss this one, get there however you can - you'll have a great
time, and learn all kinds of good stuff.

Lori, you're continuing to do a great job of producing these workshops.
Good on ya'!
