updated sat 7 oct 00

Alisa and Claus Clausen on fri 6 oct 00

Source: Clayart Archives, Pike's Oatmeal with 3.3% Cobalt ox.

Tested on lightly grogged, mid range light grey stoneware, fired to =
1220c oxidation,=20

Receipe
37,3 Custer
12,7 Gerstely Boarte
6,4 Dolomite
13,6 Talc
4,5 Kaolin
22,7 flint
2,7 Zinc Ox.

Add 3.3 colbat. oxide.

All amounts were measured up to the next whole decimal

Subbed Colemanite for G.B..
Local spar was used instead of Custer.

Very similar results to test with G.B., except more a grey blue than the =
original receipe, which gave a heather purple.
Similar in amount of variation in color from thick to thin.

Smooth, stable semi matt to matt glaze. Grey blue where thickest, =
lighter blue where thinnest.

Tested same glaze, without colbalt, called Pike's Oatmeal. Subbed =
Colemanite for G.B.
Resulted in stable, semi matt, clear.
