Our workshop with George McCauley concluded yesterday late afternoon =
after two days of great demonstrations and lots of fun. George did =
thrown and handbuilt work for us, and showed his relaxed and whimsical =
way of working with clay.
Some memorable moments: George throwing platters on the wheelhead and =
picking them up from their walls like wet sweaters to move them to =
wareboards - a real mind blower! Watching George applying commercial =
underglazes with wild abandon using brushes, fingers and his palm. =
Seeing George build a sculptural tableau from slabs and small =
wheel-thrown elements manipulated and stacked together.
IT was a great couple of days, and George was so entertaining and fun to =
watch. His sense of humor made the time fly by and we had a fantastic =
If you get then chance to see George in action, I sure would recommend =
it - his style of working is absolutely fascinating to watch.
