any clayarters out there that are firing or building a gas/electric/itc
kiln please let me know.

keep good records and pass them on to me.

i will be doing some writing with bill jones of `pottery making
illustrated` on the gas/electric kiln system and want all the input we can
find.

as i have said many times, the more people who work on an
idea, and give results, the more we can trust the research.

also want to repeat....this was the original work of nils lou.
we just continue it.

it seems that this kiln will be commercially available, or already is.

a couple of things to consider:
1. this kiln gets hotter on the outside than the typical cone 6, so make
sure your area is safe and shielded.
2. you will need better ventilation than for the standard cone 6 firing.
3. make sure your hose is covered under the kiln....a great deal of
heat also comes down from the kiln. we have encased our rubber
hose in kaowool. (just the part under the kiln.)
4. make sure you have a regulator on your small gas tank. some
of them come without. buy it. make sure your gas is safe.
5. tend your kiln. do not just wait for the kiln guard to shut things
off. be attentive.

got a note from jason briggs at vince's place. he has tried to fire
that kiln with just gas, (single small burner.) and has gotten
very spotty results. he is waiting for the department to add the
20 amp electric line. we will have results soon from him.
(kick some butt down there vince, those maintenance folks are
drinking too much coffee.):)

thanks for help.
