clayart as emails

Folks,

Lee Jaffe recently wrote about how irritating it is to receive so many
emails that are off topic. It got me to thinking...

I have never understood why anyone would choose to receive clayart as
separate emails when you can get the whole thing as one email if you
subscribe in digest form. Getting each day's postings in one handy email is
so much better in my opinion. Here's why:

1) If I don't have time to read clayart for two or three days or a week I
simply delete each day's worth of messages all at once. That's two or three
or seven deletes, not 588 separate deletes for one week's worth of messages.

2) If I get all those separate emails it guarantees that I will not read
those topics that do not interest me. I would just skip past those messages
and delete them. If I receive clayart as digest however, I still can scroll
down past those messages that don't interest me or those blustery blowhards
that I don't like to read. The big advantage here, to my mind, is that I
wind up reading lots of messages that I ordinarily would not have read since
the subject heading did not sound interesting. And you know what? I've
learned a lot from reading those messages that at first seemed dull and that
I normally would have skipped over.

So there you have it. Get the digest for a while. You'll love it! Thanks for
all your hard work Mel!
