I've never met a psychiatrist, but I suppose what you say is true to a
certain extent. I'm just interested in the motivation behind the desire to
create. For me it is mostly the desire to create objects that make people
happy. It's just like observing children to tap into a kind of innocent
creativity. So I'm more interested the mildly neurotic than the severe
mal-adaptive examples.

> Their psycho-babble is worse than edu-babble or art-speak!

If it sounds like babble to one then it is to them. To me the word
edu-babble or "art-speak" is really the babble....but there you have it.
( I may have been in school too long...Ha Ha) I just like to read
biographies about artists. I thought it was cool when G. O'Keefe took up
clay late in life.

I just like to read books and think about artists. I thought George Ohr was
a good example of someone that was eccentric without really being psychotic.
It is also valuable to know others mistakes so as not to make them. But you
are right that psychology can take the life out of life. The book I
mentioned poses some neat ideas and deals with some of the concepts of
dreams and the power of symbolism.

quote:
"Creativity depends on the their freedom in gathering, assembling,
comparing, and reshuffling of ideas." Now see that's not so bad is it?
There is a lot in the book about the influence of emotions and expression.
Anyway, I hope I'm not boring you. (8+D

> Gayle Bair- content in her personal bubble

But hey! If one is content don't upset the apple cart. Be happy and make
some more pots. That's what I do.

Thanks for you reply.....it was fun to get a note after spending all day in
the shop. I really cleaned up since it was a windy day I could open all the
doors and let the dust blow out. (Yes, I still wore my mask.) Then I mopped
my little heart out.

I like my bubble too....best regards,

Chuck
