COMPOSING with CLAY - presented by DON DAVIS

We are excited to announce that DON DAVIS of Asheville, NC will be presenting
a two-day workshop in Climax, NC just prior to NCECA 2001. Don is well known
for his dramatic, functional art. He was featured in the Mar/April 2000
issue of CLAY TIMES and recently wrote WHEEL-THROWN CERAMICS, a beautiful and
well thought out publication of Lark Books.

Don's focus for this workshop will be the composition of clay art utilizing
both slab and thrown pieces. Monday evening we will be treated to a slide
presentation. Don has agreed to bring pieces of his work as well as copies
of his book to purchase to the workshop.

The workshop will be at The Goat Lady Dairy, a working farm, northeast of
Charlotte. We are fortunate in that the chef's at the dairy will provide a
gourmet buffet dinner on Monday evening (during slides) and lunch on Tuesday.
(included in the fee) For more information on the dairy as well as a lovely
map, go to www.goatladydairy.com.

This is a wonderful opportunity for all to see a bit of rural North Carolina
at it's best. An added benefit is that Seagrove is a short drive from the
dairy farm and easily added to your trip plans.

The cost of the workshop is $90 and it is limited to 40 participants. To
register for the workshop, send a check for the full amount to: Don Davis
Workshop c/o Vicki Katz, 2703 Nicholson Street, Houston, TX 77008. Please
