Besides learning the cuts made by the differing gouges, the next trick =
for success is to learn the correct way to sharpen, hone and strop those =
tools. Without a keen edge, a blade will not do any work worth while and =
can destroy the wood. And some woods are highly abrasive due to silica =
inclusions so the edge dulls quickly. Now I have to turn some fruit wood =
mallets so that I can do some anticlastic forming.
