Thanks J.K.
But, I use the hydrometer in the same fashions as one used the dipped finger
and how the glaze covers the cuticle. Certainly for your application,
production work glaze density is a precise science. In my little studio,
glaze density is a hit-or-miss pain in the neck (as is most glazing).

I'll give you system at try. I'm sure after doing it a couple of times it
won't seem as complicated as the e-mail suggests.

Thanks again for you advice. I'm really looking for that throwable clay that
self glazes. Now there's a task for our glaze gurus to tackle.

Dear J.K.

The first recorded Clayart post from the fifth millennium BC is from a
glaze guru to the Pharaoh's, whose name I forget - Mel will remember him
but I was too young .

The post is a description of a self glazing clay. Throwable but only
just called an Egyptian paste body. There must be some good modern recipes
in the recent archives.

My recipes are from the good old days and don't work that well.
