Fire code drywall has the paper covering both sides of the board treated
with chemicals to be incombustible. It is not the same as regular
drywall. If you are wanting something to further protect your walls [and
you certainly should] try using a surface of cement board [Durroc,
Ceramaboard, and other trade names]. Install it on the face of 3 5/8"
steel studs fastened to the face of the 5/8" Fire code drywall that you
used on your wall to begin with. We can NEVER be TOO careful. Greg
