Interesting to read the recent exchanges on salt, soda, neph syenite and =
carbon. Here's my two cents worth....
>From my experience with soda glazing, I find that carbon trapping is =
dead easy to achieve in a soda-fluxed glaze. The tricky bit is to keep =
the carbon to an attractively subtle level. It seems the choice of =
firing cycle is more critical than searching for a particular 'magic' =
glaze formula. Appropriate control of atmosphere during firing and =
cooling is the key here....
