Hello everybody,

Some time ago, Arthur has brought up the idea of creating a potters =
paradise on our farm , here in sunny South Africa. Over the last few =
days I have been working on the idea and thought I will run it by all of =
you (just in case we'll need to go and look for investors....).

The idea is basically:
=20
To organize ceramic workshops for 20-25 participating local and overseas =
artists -with one "head" artist who will conduct the workshop.(varying =
themes...from pitfiring to salt and shino )- here in our everpopular =
Western Cape South Africa.
The event will last for 7 days, the accommodation provided will be in =
comfy double rooms with en-suite bathrooms, food will come from the farm =
restaurant and the "extra- mural" events will include: visit to local =
wine farm with wine tasting, go to the nearby hotsprings, drive to the =
beach on the Indian Ocean, go horseriding, hiking in the bushmen's caves =
, go mountain biking and similar .

Besides having the best in their fields showing off the skills we will =
also have some of the top South African ceramists and there will also =
be talent from our local previously disadvantaged community. First of =
all If we were to invite some of you to be the visiting 'Head' ( which =
means that you travel free and we accommodate you with meals and with =
extra's and a small renumeration.)- would anyone be keen to start the =
ball rolling ? and could we count on the majority of 'Clayart' to =
support the concept...

The participating artists will have an option of leaving their =
"workshop" wares in the Gallery and once the piece/s are sold the monies =
will be forwarded to them.

The charge will be $500 for the 7 days inclusive of accommodation, food, =
transport from and to the airport, all "extra mural" activities =
mentioned above and materials required for the workshop BUT excluding =
the airfair (once there is enough interest from the participants we can =
negotiate with airlines...).

The Invited "head "artist will have his/hers return airfair , board and =
lodging and all the above activities paid for + $1000 in remuneration =
for his willingness to share his/hers knowledge.
=20
To summarize: we would like to share the beauty of this land , our =
knowledge and our resources with people of similar interests and have a =
great time doing it! =20

Well... what do you think?
Awaiting your comments.

Best Wishes to All.
