Hello, Mia.

I agree that re-wiring a kiln is quite a project. (regarding your post
below) I had mine rewired and wouldn't have dreamed of doing that job
myself. I was talking about replacing the elements only, which is a much
simpler proposal.

Dear Cindy,
The cost of rewiring an electric kiln must depend on the kind of kiln
you have.I have a Skutt cone 10 kiln.which I purchased in l983. In l990 it
was rewired and that plus labor came to $288.00. I bought wire for the kiln
in l994 to avoid having to wait for it in future. That alone cost $228.00.
In l996 the labor cost was $l05.00 for the rewiring. It is not a job I
would undertake even when I was a great deal younger. I can see that I
might have to have it rewired in another 2 years , if it holds out until
then.
