anagama dinnerware

Dear John: Our dinnerware is not woodfired because of the surface we desire
for the load of pots. We like a heavy ashing which takes several hours of
stoking. We make our dinnerware in our gas kiln with a ash or shino glaze.
If you want specifically anagama kiln woodfire dinnerware I would suggest
Todd Piker, Cornwall Bridge Pottery, Conn. USA/. He has a website and his
pots are well made, smartly crafted, nicely decorated and CHEAP,CHEAP. He
and Mark Hewitt of North Carolina have large 300+ cubic foot anagamas that
they fire relatively quickly-. Mark also makes dinnerware but his won't be
as cheap. These pots are not the crusty ones that we lust for in our
woodkiln.
Todd Piker is one of the unsung heroes of woodfiring. Thousands and
thousands of good pots, woodfired, filling houses all over the country. We
have some of his pots and wish we had more.
