Please excuse my ignorance. This must be pretty basic for all of
you...but...what is raku, as opposed to reduction firing. I thought
that raku was firing without oxygen, although that really wouldn't work,
would it. So, is the piece first fired normally, and then placed into a
sealed airless secondary container? wHAT is the role of wood chips,
sawdust, cowdung, etc. etc. that I have seen used, in what I thought was
raku firing in Cer.Mo'ly articles?
