oops: lamp making info

updated wed 12 jul 00

I goofed! I posted info on how to make a lamp awhile back, and
just got an email from someone pointing out a mistake. I had
said that the ridged wire of the cord goes to the brass screw on
the socket. It appears to be the other way around. The SMOOTH
half goes to the brass screw and the ridged half goes to the
silver screw which is the ground. SORRY SORRY .
When done correctly, a person changing a light bulb will not get
a shock if they touch the innards of the socket. Even wired
wrong, the lamp will work fine...I know :-(
