I think this topic was discussed some time ago after there was a report =
of an extreme accident where a person was seriously injured.
I can understand the chemistry, that Ethyl alcohol will make an =
excellent reducing agent because of it=92s Carbon and Hydrogen content. =
However, I believe there was a consensus that it was a foolhardy thing =
to throw liquid flammable spirit at a hot pot. Perhaps the workshop =
demonstrator would describe his methods and the safety precautions which =
are needed to prevent explosions or conflagrations.
