Hi:

This glaze is just fine for cone 10 and should be a nice tenmoku. It's
very close to one that I use called Peach Black that was formulated by
Harlan House. The glaze that you have sent in is a .6 limestone tenmoku
and all the oxides are right in the ballpark on the molecular
level. Still, it's always best to test first. Here's the recipe
retotalled to 100% with the iron included in the recipe and not given as an
addition. For a reduction glaze, the zinc would probably not be a
necessary addition. As far as food use goes, I'd eat off this glaze any
day as long as eggplant isn't on the menu. Know what I mean? Eggplant
will mess up my yin-yang balance.

I have this in my glaze file. I used it at Haystack but have never mixed it
for my studio. Worked fine as I recall.

This formula doesn't balance so I am suspicious of it. Still it is a
starting point for testing. The work I brought home was a nice glossy black
with slight golden breaks. Good luck.
