I am considering building an Oregon flat top but adding one brick to each
wall row, so that the inner dimensions are 36" by 36" instead of 27" by
27". Other aspects would be the same: top load design, wall height,
ITC-100, etc. Since the top would be heavier I envision using an overhead
support or engine hoist to lift and move the top. Never having built a
kiln before, I would appreciate any advice or comments on a larger version
of the OFT. I also would like to hear from those who built the standard
OFT on how it fires and any advice on building it.
