Hi all,

In the last tea lesson, an American student selected the tea bowl and
utensil for the day.
The tea bowl was an American Raku bowl.
The teacher explained the difference between the Japanese and American ones.
He took out the traditional Japanese kuro Raku and
placed it next to the American Raku bowl that was
a whitish with blue hue here and there.
The American Raku bowl was much lighter in weight.
I guess the clay is totally different too.

I feel that American Raku should have its own distinctive name like Ame-raku
or Bei-Raku
or something to distinguish from the traditional Japanese Raku.
