Dear Lynne:
The U-bolts don't have to be stainless steel. The standard package of
two U bolts (with nuts and plates) at most hardware stores costs about
$1. Throw the plates away. Buy extra nuts.
The z shaped metal that you see on some dies comes WITH the dies made by
one particular extruder manufacturer. I don't think you can buy the
metal separately.
