Dear Ivor,
Since the sixties I have often thought that our choices to live by
selling pottery or art in a modern society is possible only because of
the affluence of our economy. We don't take pots to market by mule or
carts. We don't mix clay in basins and dry it in the sun as is still
done for half their clay by my potter friends in Spain . We are lucky to
be able to do what we want because of the society we live in and its weal=
th.
