Come on people let's stop this nit picking and refocus on what brought us
together in the first place.
If you are all like me, and I'm sure you are, you didn't choose to work with
clay, What really happened is that clay chose you. Nobody in his/her right
mind would choose this as a profession,
Clay possesses us takes over our lives, time, and soul. We become so
passionate about it and jealous for it that we loose sight that we all are in
this for "The Love of Clay."
Whether our preferred method of communicating with clay is throwing,
handbuilding, slabwork, press molding, cutting and reassembling, firing
technique, glaze chemistry, or a mixture of that. The main thing is that our
soul is in the "Clay" therefore in the piece and that is what makes it "Art"
I have been on clayart a very short time enjoying it, getting and giving help
whenever possible, and reading the philosophical threads with a lot of
interest because they made me think about all points of view, and change my
mind a few times. But I have come to the conclusion that sometimes an issue
does get run to death and handmade or not has had it, this time around.
Happy potting to all
Mayssan
