marbling with slip/feathered slip trailing.

Feathered slip trailing is that what you mean? We (my ex and I) wrote an
article about that for CM in 1973. It is a matter of having the slips
two different consistencies so one floats on the other. Then using tail
feathers of chickens (really) drag the feather throught the slip to make
patterns. Dry slowly to avoid cracking. We used a gravity feed
applicaton for the heavier slip. If you squirt it onto the existing pool
of slip, you get a mess. The gravity feed applicator was made with an
eye dropper protruding through a sawed off honey bear top half including
the funnel. The flow was controlled using a pencil to start and stop by
plugging the funnel.
