apline burner ports

I have a very old Alpine HF 24 [serial NO. 180] and the burner ports are
straight, no flare or taper. In Wards Burner Catalouge they show a 15 degree
flare for burner ports and I'm wondering if the Alpine should have it? and
if it should, is there an easy way to make new ports.

Bryan,

In the best of all worlds, a 15 degree taper is best. Would I modify an old
Alpine's ports? No, I wouldn't bother. A straight sided port will hardly make
a noticable difference.
