------------------
Does anyone have any pointers for glazing and Raku firing commercial tiles?=
I
want to use large (10=22) tiles for a fireplace surround, and would like to =
use a
copper matt Raku glaze o them.
What would be a good source for these tiles, I suppose I would need bisque
stoneware floor tiles...???
Also what would your suggestions be for sealing the tiles to prevent
reoxidation of the glaze...Thompsons...Lacquer????
Any help would be appreciated, as a friend wants to use this in his house
remodeling project.

Thanks=21

Tommy,
Many years ago I tried to Raku manufactured tiles. I think they were the Florida
Tile brand. Almost everything cracked. I think they were just too dense and
couldn't take the thermal shock. I then made tiles with my reliable Raku body a
tiled myself a nice fireplace. The tiles weren't perfectly flat or perfectly
square, but that's the beauty of it!
