all parts to build the gas/electric kiln are in place at the farm.

kurt, bob, andy, bob and i spent three days at the farm.
kurt's eye is getting better, and we did work to prepare
for warm weather...(new toilet)
weather was poor/rain/snow so did not start work on the
train kiln, but that will soon go together.

we installed digital camera software on the farm computer
so we can send pictures to the clayart webpage during 'hay
creek'. our plan is to make a digital video of the complete
rebuild of the electric kiln to gas conversion.

when 5 potters are put together for 3 days there is a great
deal of loud talk, falsehoods, pranks, and of course laughter.

so, we will report the progess, results and see if this critter
really works.

we will also put another 10-15 hard firings on the itc coated
softbrick salt kiln. what a great kiln that is.

perfect firing to cone 10.
hotter on the bottom, but.....bright reds, shinos.
6 different potters, their glazes...just like home.
so, we are very pleased.
now, how many firings will it go?
who knows.

Mel, I must be missing something somewhere. Are you telling us that you are
firing a kiln with both electricity AND gas? If so, how, or is that in the
archives for me to dig up?

Thanks.

Mel,
That is great news. I am sure there are a bunch of people on the list that
have been following this anxiously. So some of us can plan for the future,
can you tell us when this gas/electric kiln may be put into production, and
who would be distributing it, and a ball park figure of when. Not that I am
anxious or anything. Thanks
Joyce A.
