MCC Hosts National Ceramic Artist Steve Branfman

The Minnesota Crafts Council, in partnership with the the Rock County
Fine Arts
Association and the Edina Art Center, presents two opportunities to
learn from nationally =26 internationally renowned ceramic artist Steve
Branfman. Branfman, from Needham Heights, MA, has authored two books:
Raku: A Practical Approach and The Potters Professional Handbook. He is
published in many clay journals and does workshops on an international
level.

Raku Refire Madness

Branfman will be the guest artist at the 7th annual Raku Refire Madness
in Luverne, MN, on April 28, 29 =26 30, 2000. The workshop schedule opens
with an artists=92 reception at 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, followed by a
slide show =26 lecture at 7:00 p.m. Saturday =26 Sunday, April 29 =26 30,
beginning at 9:00 a.m., participants will experience wet clay
techniques, glazing =26 firing demonstrations. The workshop will
culminate in a firing by participants.

Workshop is limited to the first 30 paid registrations=3B others will be

Edina Art Center Raku Workshop

On May 5 =26 6, 2000, the Edina Art Center co-hosts a Raku Workshop with
Steve
Branfman. Slide show =26 lecture, Friday, May 5, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. (=2413
EAC =26 MCC
members, =2415 others). Raku Firing Workshop Saturday, May 6, 9:30 a.m.
- 3:30 p.m.
(=2467 EAC =26 MCC members, =2475 others=3B includes Friday lecture.) =
Limited
to 20
participants. Call the Edina Art Center at (952) 915-6600 to register.
The Edina Art Center is located at 4701 W. 64th St. in Edina.
