gerstley borate substitute close to ready

updated wed 10 may 00

I don't want to start an avalanche of emails into my mail box but I am close
to having production sample of our Gerstley Borate substitute ready. It
will not
only be a sub, it will be better, addressing some of the problems with GB.
We'd like to make samples available soon at the Axner.com web site.
Please don't email me asking when it will be available, just check their
home page. However if you have a glaze that contains at least 20%
GB and it is very critical to your operation could you email it to
gerstleyborate@digitalfire.com. Please, just email one for now. We want
to test as many as we can.

Dear Tony,
my absolutely essential glaze contains: GB 49, Flint 34, EPK 17
I will be anxious to try your version of substitute. I have on hand ready to
try Lugana's and Kickwheel's to experiment with.
Louise
let me know the results please.

Just an FYI that A.R.T. in Wisconsin is very close to success in their lab
with a Gerstley Borate Substitute. Will keep you informed or watch their
web site for availability.

I'm just curious, I have heard that a number of suppliers
are supposed
to be coming out with G.B. substitutes. I would be curious
to know what
they are doing to make the boron non water soluable if they
are not using frits.
Frits we got.
