I have cast cement wedging tables that I clean with a steel scraper. I love
it. I have used it for 10 years, nothing can hurt it. Cement tables are
indestructable, cheap, & absorbant. I used a bag of Qwik-crete with small
agggregate in it. If you pour the cement in a wooden frame on a piece of
glass and turn it over when dry you will have a glass-smooth surface. If
you pour it with the working surface up and just smooth it like you were
pouring a slab you will get a subtle texture that can be a very nice
starting point for slab work. Forget plaster, it sucks.
