Yea=21 we hit an all time high =24=24 this year, the Anchorage Clay Arts =
Guild, the
area high schools, University ceramic program, potters from the kenai area =
and
all the folks, studios, supporters and special potter organizer, Chris =
Kemper
have managed to raise =2431,000 for our local Bean's Cafe (a =
feed-the-homeless
place).
I'=5Bm impressed and just had to brag.

hi all, well our empty bowl project for 2005 is done. whew!!
the potters in this area, students from the high schools and
the university made 1,993 bowls for the event.
After 11 years we have picked up some corporate sponsors,
for examplt BP paid for the hall, local printers supply the
flyers etc. and this year the local (acs) telephone company came
on board..donations from local corporations also..
The first year we did this event we made aprox. $600.00 for
Beans Cafe' our local feed the needy place.
This year we raised, ready? $52,900.00 !!!!

Congratulations on your success--that is quite impressive! We had our first Empty Bowls this past November so I can appreciate how much hard work it takes to pull off such an event!

hi all,
the empty bowl project in anchorage has been going
on for about 12 maybe 13 years now.
this year 2346 bowls were donated and 90 silent
auction pieces.
because of; our longevity, many corporate donors
like to get on our band wagon.
this year we brought to beans cafe (our local feed
the hungry place)
drum roll please
over $98,000 !!!!!!
damn it is amazing what a bunch of potters can do!!
bliss in sunny anchorage. (where is supposed to get
above freezing this week-end)
