Mary,

Before you dig out CM recipes, I'd search the clayart archives for Ron
Roy posts and start with some of the glazes he reformulated. There are
quite a number and you'll probably have instant success with them - all
but the floating blue that is and that's not Ron's fault, it's just
really sensitive to temperature variations.

Hey everyone!

I just pulled some pieces from the kiln that had my first very own hand =
crafted glazes on them!!

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement, tips, recipes and support. =
It's great to know that I can just post a message here and get all the =
help I need. You folks are GREAT! I received email from Denmark (maybe =
because of my name), Belgium, Israel and the US.. (probably missed one =
or 2 in that so I apologize for any omissions) =20

OK, about the glazes. Got a very good white, nice black, cobalt blue =
and a float blue. The blues need a little more care in the application =
than I used in my haste to fire before 2003.. (one of my 2002 goals.) =
The white is nice and bright and covers well. Used it on the inside of =
a cup and looks great. The black is black. That is where I covered the =
piece well. The Cobalt blue same as black, gotta cover better. It did =
look good where the brush strokes overlapped.

Great learning experience and will be honing glazing skills from now on. =

Thanks again everyone!!
