what to do about stinky overglazes?

Thanks for the many good ideas for making the overglaze colorants more
paintable. Here is my question- When I use CMC on the base, or syrup in the
overglaze, I get stinky glazes, but only sometimes. How are you all dealing =
with
the decomposition of the organic additives to your glazes and colorants? Do =
you
just mix up enough for one use? Add something to retard the fermenting? =
Thanks.

Marian just add a few drops of Chlorox or more to your glaze, that should
stop the smell, Mia in ABQ

Hi!

You might try a capful of bleach to your Overglazes, to kill the bacteria
that causes the odor. Bleach is also good to use with "stinky" glazes, and
slips, too.
