Anyone out there in ClayArt land have a fool proof way of checking Fire
eyes to see if they are functioning?

Cindy Strnad on mon 3 apr 00

Hi, Chris.

I wish I could tell you how to check fire eyes, but . . . I'm really
curious. What on earth is a fire eye, and how does it function?

Hi,
One way to check if the fire eye is working is to cover the sensors
with a piece of paper and see if the burners shut off. Just use a lot of
care when doing this.If the kiln shuts off the fire eye is working. Mike
