Greetings,
I haven't been following Clayart for a long time now so excuse me if these
subjects have been covered. I'm posting this for a friend who is a
production potter, 25 years+, who doesn't do computers.

It seems that one of the main ingredients in almost all of her glazes is
Gerstley Borate. She just recently found out that the mine is either shut
down or soon to be shut down, and that GB will no longer be available. She
asked me to see if I could find any basic recipes that use Frits as the
main ingredients to which she could add various colorants.

If anyone has this sort of information and is willing to share it, please
help.
The interest would be in basic glossy and matte recipes for cone 5-7
oxidation firing.

Thank you for any information.

Hi Dick,

Tell her I do this for a living and can probably convert all her recipes
using frits instead of GB. The best frit in most cases will be Ferro frit
3134 or Fusion frit F12.

My fee is $25 US per hour. I can do at least one glaze per hour - sometimes 2.

What I need are the recipes and can give better details after I see them.
Tell her I do this for many potters and companies and all information will
be kept private.

Let me know if you need more info.
