tomato cage glazing device

Sorry to be ignorant, but what on earth is a tomato cage? The mind boggles!
I know genetic modification is a non-issue in the US, but the thought of
having to keep tomatoes safe in cages is quite horrifying.
Do the wee beasties bite? Just goes to show H.G.Wells was a profit! The
triffids ARE coming!

Janet Kaiser - Sad because the next Harry Potter book will not appear before
September.

Janet,
I have received my laugh of the day at your expense!
Tomato cages are just as they might seem, a wire structure to keep the
"little beasties" from sprawlling about on the ground. IE, a support
structure, if you will.
Surely you must have a similar device, called by another name, you "Brits"
do seem to use different words for some things, hense our frequent confusion
and occasional ammusement to each other.

Janet--I'll give you two theories:

1. It is a wire construction used to support tomato vines as they
overgrow your yard.

2. Or go to: http://www.awod.com/gallery/rwav/ctyner/kt.html

Best wishes,

Jeanne
